Selling: Hailee Steinfeld, the New Face of Miu Miu (and what a face)
She garnered acclaim for her portrayal in last year's Coen Brothers' western True Grit, but Hailee Steinfeld was also noted for her red carpet style, wearing designs by Marchesa, Prada, and Miu Miu. Miuccia Prada must have caught on to her old-soul, ingenue appeal, because she has cast her in Miu Miu's Fall 2011 campaign, gorgeously photographed by Bruce Webber. The clothes themselves have a '40s retro-appeal, like if Joan Crawford had been a teenager in the '40s she would have worn this. Check it out!

Selling: Jil Sander's Fall/Winter 2011 Ad Campaign
Designer Raf Simons is obsessed with creating streamlined minimalism with pops of color and a Hitchcockian edge for Jil Sander. This campaign, shot by Willy Vanderperre, perfectly captures the Vertigo-like obsession.

The Noise x Selling: Rye Rye feels brokenhearted with Robyn and looks Stylistic in Prabal Gurung
M.I.A's protege is one of the flyest and cutest chick's in the current music scene. Robyn probably has the best voice in pop/dance music (sorry Gaga). They look fresh and sound adorable unloading all their boy drama. The song samples Robyn's own single "Be Mine!"
Also, Rye Rye appeared in a video look book for designer Prabal Gurung's first ever resort collection, which is playful, effervescent chic. Check it out!

Très chic cinema: I Am Love
Sumptuous romantic melodramas are not as frequently seen on movie screens as they were in the days of Douglas Sirk and Technicolor. It's even harder to see one that features a strong female lead with a killer wardrobe. That's too bad, since cinema is about fantasy, and what is more fantastical than a uniquely beautiful woman romantically suffering in lush Milanese fashions?
Tilda Swinton stars as a Russian immigrant who has assimilated into the role of bourgeois Milanese housewife only to find her passionate side awakened by the family's earthy cook. Her exquisite minimalist wardrobe is by Jil Sander, and her luxurious bags are Fendi, two of the ultimate houses of Italian fashion.
Swinton has hardly ever been better, and certainly she has never been so glamorous. Her androgynous beauty paired with how she intellectualizes her romantic suffering is reminiscent of Garbo in her thirties melodramas. Also, Marisa Berenson is in it, and she still looks amazing for a woman of her age. You should see it, or at least check out the trailer below.

The Noise: Gaga is on "The Edge of Glory" (Video)
La Gaga's shockingly simple video. Just a girl rocking out on the street in vintage Versace. Yet, it's more moving then the elaborate, overly styled and choreographed videos she put out for "Born This Way" and "Judas." Easily, the best single off the Born This Way LP thus far.
