Prada's latest fragrances gets a cheeky (pun intended), flirty and fun little ad video. A pink and gold baroque setting, pink Prada panties, a piano, a sexy piano teacher, a classic song, some slight sadomasochism and model Léa Seydoux (who was charming in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris and has appered nude for American Apparel) makes this a naughty little treat.

Florence Welch gets Masculine for Vogue Nippon
In Gucci |
Styled by Karl Lagerfeld, Florence + the Machine's lead singer ditches her usual disheveled locks and feminine frocks for a more androgynous take on fashion. The look suggests Tilda Swinton, David Bowie and the Kaiser himself. Yet she stays loyal to her brand, Gucci. See more here.

The Noise: Feist chills out again with "How Come You Never Go There"
Feist stole many hearts with her sophomore LP The Reminder, and if this first single is any indication she plans on doing the same with her upcoming album Metals. Smooth, jazzy, Starbucks ready pop.

The Noise: Jay & Kanye still fly in "Otis"
The two biggest names in rap have joined forces for Watch The Throne, and if this video is any indicator they plan to keep on boasting while driving models around in Maybachs. In that sense the Spike Jonze directed video is something of a let down, but the song is pleasant enough paying homage to that great soul man Otis Redding, and sampling probably his greatest song ("Try a Little Tenderness"). Also there's a bizarre and hilarious little cameo by Aziz Ansari.

Iron Lady: Georgia May Jagger as Margaret Thatcher for Harper's Bazaar
In Burberry Prorsum A witty spread by the always playful, provocative and at times notorious photographer Terry Richardson, featuring the luscious lipped model (daughter of Mick) channeling a woman who has brought out as many polarized reactions as one person possibly could. The spread features the ladylike fashions of Carolina Herrera, Salvatore Ferragamo, Moschino and Valentino among many others, and while it functions as a tongue-in-cheek, slightly irreverent fashion spread, it also raises the question; how much do the clothes make the woman? Just how much of power is established by the way one dresses and how the public perceives them? Would the Kennedys or the Obamas have made it if they hadn't been chic couples? If Hilary Clinton were "prettier" or dressed better would she be President? Who knows. For know enjoy the rest of the spread here and read the brilliant Suzy Menkes' article on Thatcher's real life style (in both fashion and politics) here. |
