The Noise: Rihanna thinks 'You Da One'
The whole lyrics and the screen thing is getting tired, and to some extent so is Rihanna's sexually aggressive gyrating. But this has to be one of the most romantic tracks of her career, an exuberant love song, which is still very sexy. She also gets major style points for her extreme white cat eye sunglasses, her exquisite two-tone manicure and her interpretation of Malcolm McDowell's A Clockwork Orange look. It's just too bad that she may have ripped off another photographer.

The Noise: Lana Del Rey was 'Born to Die'
Internet sensation Lana Del Rey has released the video from her upcoming album. Her pout, the songs' heavy strings, the American flag, a floral crown, a couple of tigers, and a heavily tatted boo make for a bizarrely fatalistic video.
Selling: L.A.dy Dior
John Cameron Mitchell has directed the latest installment in the Lady Dior short film series, starring the ever beautiful, glamorous and romantic Marion Cotillard. This time around the series spoofs L.A. with Cotillard playing a starlet surrounded by lying agents, pretentious stylists, gossipy make-up artists, pushy photographers and half naked male models. Her eventually meltdown is fiercely chic, but the iconic Lady Dior bags look as lovely as ever.

Actress: Meryl Streep on the cover of 'Vogue'
Shot by Annie Leibovitz (of course), America's foremost actress graces the cover of the January 2012 issue of Vogue to promote her latest incarnation as the ever controversial Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady. At age 62, Streep is the oldest cover model in the magazine's history. She appears serene, wearing casual designs by designers like Michael Kors and Carolina Herrera. It is a welcome change of pace for the magazine to have a mature woman of substance and accomplishment, rather than a starlet, appear on the cover. Click here to read the interview and see the rest of the shoot. Videos from some of Streep's most memorable roles after the jump.

Innocence Lost: Carey Mulligan for 'W'
In Nina Ricci |
Actress Carey Mulligan takes a surprisingly sensual turn on the cover of the January 2012 issue of W magazine to promote her risque new film Shame. The rest of the shoot is far more tame, but it is beautiful and cinematic with a '60s feel and a hint of sorrow. Shot by Michael Thompson and styled by Edward Enninful. The Noise: Gaga's Post-Modern Meltdown
Easily one of the most infectious tracks off of the Born This Way album gets a melodramatic, highly stylized, and at almost fourteen minutes, epic video. The video begins with a shallow narration on the importance of artifice in its relation to memory and then turns into a mental hospital drama where Gaga tries to stretch her acting muscle, complete with tears. The rest of the video seems to reference everything from female psych dramas like The Snake Pit and Girl, Interruped, to eighties dance flicks like Fame and Flashdance, to the Angelina Jolie vehicle Gia, and yes, even Black Swan. Gaga fans will love it.
